The Minister of Agriculture and Food Kiril Vatev met with the Ambassador of Argentina H.E. Alfredo Atanasoff at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. The two officials discussed the possibilities for deepening cooperation in the field of agriculture and food. The Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Eng. Miroslav Marinov also took part in the meeting.
Bulgaria has a very large capacity in the field of agricultural science. Therefore, further cooperation in this sphere will strengthen and develop future relations between Bulgaria and Argentina. According to him, agriculture producers’ and the food industry organizations could play important role for good partnership, where producers from both countries would be able to exchange experience. The large distance between the two countries is not a problem for the exchange of expertise, Minister Vatev also said.
This year, for the first time, Argentina participated in the specialized BATA Agro agricultural exhibition in Bulgaria and the results were impressive, announced His Excellency Alfredo Atanasoff. He specified that eight Argentinian companies have established contacts with Bulgarian distributors and laid the foundations for joint work. The Ambassador informed that the upcoming appointment of a commercial attaché of Bulgaria to the Embassy in Argentina would contribute to better future cooperation.
The two officials discussed different agriculture topics, which could be included in the agenda of the forthcoming Joint Intergovernmental Commission for Bilateral Economic Cooperation in September this year.
