“The Euro will provide more opportunities for business and especially for farmers”, stated Minister Georgi Tahov during an informational meeting in Dobrich, part of the National Information Campaign for the ad

According to him, Bulgaria's acceptance will facilitate access to foreign markets, increase the competitiveness of domestic agriculture and reduce the administrative burden for business. "Our farmers will be able to compare, trade and earn on an equal footing with their European colleagues. This will lead to real benefits, namely easier trade, more accessible financing and security in the economic environment," stressed Minister Tahov.

He emphasized that the introduction of the euro will not affect the financial resources for the Agriculture sector in any way, which are included in the Strategic Plan for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas for the 2023-2027 programming period, as well as the Program for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries for the 2021-2027 programming period.

The minister of Agriculture pointed out that the adoption of the euro is one of the most significant economic and political processes in the modern history of Bulgaria. "Joining the Eurozone will bring real benefits for businesses and citizens. We will have greater price transparency, facilitated trade, as well as easier access to investments. A more secure and predictable economic environment will be created, which will encourage both growth and strengthen confidence in Bulgaria as a natural economic partner. Bulgaria’s membership in the Eurozone will bring benefits to everyone. It will accelerate the modernization of our country and create new conditions and opportunities for growth and prosperity," the Minister added.

The meeting was attended by the Mayor of Dobrich Municipality Yordan Yordanov, the Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh and the Deputy Chairman of the Bulgarian Industrial Association Stanislav Popdonchev, who expressed their support for joining the Eurozone. They discussed the challenges and opportunities facing the agricultural sector in the region, the development of tourism, as well as the role of local authorities in preparing for the introduction of the euro.
