“Over 80% of the contracted projects under the first sub-measure 4.1 "Investment in agricultural holdings" of the Rural Development Program 2014-2020 are related to the purchase of agricultural machinery”, announced Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Rumen Porodzanov at the opening of the tenth edition of BATA AGRO 2017 International Agricultural Exhibition at the airport in Stara Zagora. According to him, the situation is the same for the second project reception under the sub-measure that is currently being processed.

Minister Porodzanov added that one of the main Ministry's priorities is achieving greater stability in the incomes of Bulgarian farmers and investing in modern agricultural machinery is of great importance for this. By the end of this programming period, farmers are secured with EUR 5.4 billion for direct payments. Separately, during the period 2014-2020, Bulgaria is estimated to have at about EUR 2.3 billion for measures under the Rural Development Program. The Minister highlighted that the budget topic is very important in the new programming period. "The multiannual financial framework, which I hope will be prepared by the end of 2017, will be left without a leading UK economy. This means that the overall financial parameters and the cost opportunities will be reduced, "said Rumen Porodzanov.

Participants from 218 companies stated over 35,000 square meters area in this year's edition of BATA AGRO. The focus for the first time is put on livestock breeding sector.
