“A change in the plant protection activity in the country is necessary to be made," said Minister of Agriculture and Food Prof. Dimitar Grekov during a meeting with the heads of Plant Protection Departments of 28 regional directorates of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency in Plovdiv. He explained that the plant protection is a very important component for quality and high agricultural yields therefore an effective administrative model for its better functioning related to quality and food safety should be provided.
Participants at the meeting pointed out that those ordinances strictly regulating the obligations of agronomists are necessary to be changed. Plant protection experts also shared other problems they encounter in their work. Minister in turn promised to seek ways tf solve them.
The meeting was also attended by the Executive Director of the Food Safety Agency Prof. Plamen Mollov and one of his deputies responsible for plant protection Mr.Plamen Lazarov.
