"Today's market is one of the initiatives aim at shortening distance between producers and consumers and make it possible for consumers to buy absolutely fresh products, it is part of our policy on support for these sectors – fruit and vegetables growing, " said Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Assoc. Prof. Georgi Kostov at the opening of the second farmer's market in the Ivan Vazov residential district. The policy pursued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, aims to support the fruit and vegetable growing sectors, which were not sufficiently stimulated in previous years.
AssocProf. Kostov said that the Ministry works very well with Sofia Municipality and Markets "South" will continue to organise thematic weekly markets in the future. Today’s market entitled "Week of Bulgarian cherries." will be opened until 27 June
