Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov held a working meeting with representatives of professional organizations of egg producers. They presented several key demands, which affect the tightening of controls in the sector. Manufacturers insist all eggs of Class A to be marked with the sign of the manufacturer. Currently, there are farmers who violate the provisions and marked eggs of Class B as Class A.
Moreover, they want the combat against VAT fraud in the sector to be increased. Minister Naydenov explained that this area is within the competence of the Ministry of Finance, but egg producers will be assisted to meet with Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Simeon Dyankov. Units of the NRA and the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA) may carry out jointly inspections, said Minister Naydenov. He proposed in relation to improving of communication with manufacturers Poultry Department to be created within Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
