The Ministry of Agriculture and Food together with DG Agriculture and Rural Development of the European Commission, the European Food Safety Authority and the EC Representation in Bulgaria plan to organize many events in connection with the two anniversaries at the national level.
Bulgaria also participates in the discussion of all-European initiatives which are to be implemented together with the other Member States throughout the whole year.
In connection with the 50-th anniversary of the CAP, DG Agriculture and Rural Development plans to launch a travelling exhibition since the month of April, which is to tour the Member States with original archival documents, audio and video materials representing the history of the establishment and the implementation of the CAP. Bulgaria has been invited to participate with its own exhibits and to be included in the schedule of the travelling exhibition.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Food, for its part, calls on all experts and representatives of the non-governmental sector in the field of agriculture and rural areas that have participated in the negotiation process of the accession of Bulgaria to the EU, as well as all the experts and NGO representatives involved in negotiations on implementing CAP to provide us with original documents and any materials related to Bulgaria's participation in the formation, reform and implementation of the Common Agricultural Policy of the EU.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Food plans to issue this year information materials for the future of the CAP, as well as to hold a series of information days on its implementation.

Ministry of Agriculture and Food provided jointly with the Representation of the European Commission in Bulgaria plans to held a seminar for journalists on the 5-th of March, 2012 in Plovdiv, in order to clarify the priorities regarding the future of the CAP, as the event will be part of the AGRA exhibition program, which will be opened on the 6-th of March, 2012. Along with the Representation of the European Commission in Bulgaria, Ministry of Agriculture and Food will participate in AGRA with a specially rented stall in Chamber № 3 – in close distance to the exhibitors from Livestock breeding sector and Agricultural Machinery sector. The stall will be opened during all the days of the exhibition and consultations from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food will provide farmers with brochures, explanations and consultations on implementation of the CAP. The Representation of the European Commission in Bulgaria intends to broadcast video materials relevant to the history and future of the CAP.
The 50-th anniversary of the CAP and the 10-th anniversary of the establishment of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) will be commemorate in all other major agricultural events throughout this year - Vinaria, The fair in Dobrich and other fairs and exhibitions, as well as during all meetings and debates with agricultural producers and their organization, which will be conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Food submitted by mid-January 2012 a letter addressing all non-government organizations in Agriculture, Forestry and Food sectors, thereby inviting them to express their opinion on the future of the CAP with comments and statements and to submit them to the Ministry in order to implement a Common National Position on the future of the CAP post 2013. We expect the statements until end of March 2012.
