Bulgarian Food Safety Agency has done lab tests of a variety of imported produce for E.coli as a prevention measure. The tests included iceberg lettuce, peaches, oranges, spices, tomatoes, and cherry tomatoes from Spain, iceberg lettuce from the Netherlands and peppers from Greece.
Lab tests have proved negative for Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli.
The tests have been done after the EU system for alarm of dangerous food products sent a warning that organic cucumbers originating from Spain
The Food Safety Agency further informs there has not been any import of cucumbers in Bulgaria in the last month.
