Over 2000 people visited the pavilion of the Bulgarian Ministry of Agriculture and Food during the first two days at the Livestock Exhibition SOMMET DE L’ELEVAGE, held in Clermont-Ferrand, France. Information pavilion of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food represents the agricultural sector and in particular livestock breeding and at the same time promoting Bulgaria as a tourist destination. Guests were able to taste traditional Bulgarian meat and dairy products. The organizers provided free area for the pavilion, as our country is a guest of honor representing the EU at the international livestock trade show. Bulgarian pavilion was visited by the French Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Forestry Stephane Le Foll, as well as by delegations from Italy, Slovenia, Romania and Ghana.

 

French delegates showed interest in partnership opportunities in the field of livestock breeding, rural, eco and cultural tourism in our country, as well as of combined tourism products

 

The delegates from Ghana were curious about the possibilities for the production of Bulgarian meat products and supply of technology.

At the official opening of the exhibition on October 1, 2014, a meeting between H.E. Angel Cholakov the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to France, the team of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, and more than 150 livestock breeders and scientists from Bulgaria was held. The problems in the sector as well as opportunities for joint projects in the farming and processing of animal products were the topics discussed at the meeting.   

 

SOMMET DE L’ELEVAGE is one of the main international livestock trade shows, held its 23rd edition from in Clermont-Ferrand (Central France). Fully dedicated to the professional sector, the show, which covers 170,000 m² exhibition spaces, hosting 1,250 exhibitors and 82,500 trade visitors, including 3,600 international visitors from 80 countries
