Ministry of Agriculture and Food launched an initiative for the purchase of living Christmas trees, and this year it isorganised under the motto "Buy a living Christmas tree, help a child". This announced Minister of Agriculture and Food Desislava Taneva. She explained that the raised funds from the sale of Christmas trees will be donated to the Autism Today Association. Minister Taneva informed that the campaign will be launched in 18 district cities will offer for sale living Christmas tree. "We have prepared 3,000 living Christmas trees and if there is interest, we can provide more. BGN 5 from each sale of a living tree will go for the cause to support the training of specialists throughout the country to work with children with autism “remarked Taneva.

 

Desislava Taneva thanked the popular  public figures who backed the noble cause - Deo, Poli Genova, Georgi Mamalev, Petar Stoychev , Kalin Sarmenov as well as for the media support of BNT and Darik Radio. She commented further that the living Christmas trees could be planted again in March next year.

 

The sale of live Christmas trees will continue from 10 to 15 December. The price of trees will depend on the characteristics and type of trees.        

 

Ministry of Youth and Sports also takes part in the initiative as the Deputy Minister Nina Naydenova announced that lottery offices will buy living Christmas trees and will donate them to kindergartens and schools.

Vladislava Tzolova, representative of the Autism Today Association pointed out that the charity initiative symbolizes the lives of children with autism, which is impossible if the public won’t hear about their problems.
