Deputy minister of agriculture and food Dr. Tsvetan Dimitrov opened in Sandanski the tenth off-site session of the Monitoring Committee of Operational Program Fisheries Sector Development.
The session was attended by Stephanos Samaras, head of department at the Directorate General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries at the European Commission, the management of the Executive Agency for Fishery and Aquacultures (IARA), experts from the European Fisheries Fund Directorate at IARA, as well as representatives of institutions, FARNET, local initiative fishing groups and industry organizations.
As at December 15, 2012, a total 63,17 %, or BGN 124 991 462,84, of the programme budget was contracted and 19,10%, or BGN 37 789 623, was paid out. A total 376 projects were registered and 190 contracts signed/projects approved.
For comparison, 23,91 % was contracted at the end of 2011 and only 7,27% paid out. The number of registered projects stood at 191 and just 71 contracts/approved projects were signed.
