Minister of Agriculture and Foods Dr. Miroslav Naydenov met with Japan's Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Michihiko Kano in Japan. During the visit of the Bulgarian governmental delegation to Japan led by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov. Japan is interested in import of poultry meat from Bulgaria, Minister Naydenov stated. The Asian state at the moment is again affected by the chicken flu which causes serious lack of poultry meat on the market. It is expected in the next few days Japan to take a decision to allow Bulgarian poultry products on the market, Minister Naydenov said.
Minister Naydenov also offered Bulgarian white and yellow cheese to his Japanese counterpart not only the popular there Bulgarian yoghurt. It is expected the NVS to send health records on this issue. Minister Michihiko Kano explained that he has started his day with a pot of Bulgarian yoghurt for the past 20 years. He was invited to visit Bulgaria and to get acquainted with the production of white and yellow cheese on the spot.
Minister Naydenov participated in the Bulgarian-Japanese business forum where it became clear that there is great interest in the Bulgarian wine and rose oil.
Japanese business companies are interested in intensified cooperation with Bulgarian companies. They want to use our raw materials to produce goods with which to enter the European market, added the Minister Naydenov.
