Representatives of the tobacco branch organizations discussed today at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food the amendments planned to be made to the Tobacco and Tobacco Products Law. "The purpose of these amendments is to regulate the relations between producers and processors," said George Ralchev, state expert in the department. He explained that the prepared changes are aimed at improving the tobacco quality manufactured in our country. One mechanism for this is the implementation and compliance with the minimum quality requirements to ensure production of good quality raw material. Ministry of Agriculture is preparing an information brochure that will explain the exact criteria for farmers to comply with and implement these requirements.

The establishment of tobacco registers of manufacturers and retailers will regulate and bring clarity to the relationship from production to marketing of raw materials is another change that will be laid down in the law.
