At several metropolitan markets students distributed pamphlets and posters to promote the consumption of vegetables. The campaign is part of European campaign for returning the consumers’ confidence in consumption of fruit and vegetables.
Students, who are in training in Ministry of Agriculture and Food to “Public Relations” Department, as well as civil servants of the Ministry, distributed over 2 000 information advertising pamphlets at the two largest metropolitan markets – “Kirkov market” and Market “Dimitar Petkov”. The campaign of European Commission launched in July 2011 and was related with the raised panic with possible infection of Escherichia coli bacteria.
By the campaign, Brussels is trying to reassure people to return to the normal use of vegetables and to prevent farmers from bankrupt.
The Commission would like to be alert both at the European level and Level of Member-States, that vegetables are not dangerous.
In this connection Bulgaria took measures to participate in information campaign of European Commission, as it includes own ideas.
The today’s initiative is of Bulgarian Ministry of Agriculture and Food, as it was held under the motto “This summer in the menu: fruits, vegetables and again vegetables”.
The campaign of Ministry of Agriculture and Food passed under a big interest on the part of citizens, and sellers and producers of vegetables and fruits, who encouraged and supported the conducting of the campaign.
All citizens, who received information pamphlets and posters, confirmed that the information is very useful and they said that they would acquaint with the campaign, as well as with the future initiatives.
