Ordinance for the conditions and order of  operatin of animal breeding farms in mountainous and other disadvantaged areas has been  published in the State Gazette today. The ordinance regulates the terms and conditions for the activity of animal breeding farms in mountainous and other disadvantaged areas. The Ordinance provides that animal breeding farms in mountainous regions and other disadvantaged areas should be classified into three categories: private farm, family farm and industrial farm. The document expressly states which lands exactly fall within the land territory of  these mountainous areas.
 
Ordinance also defines  the meaning of private farm as an animal  breeding site where animals are kept for production of  raw materials and food for personal consumption. The document also defines what is a family farm within the meaning of this ordinance: it is an animal breeding site where animals are kept in a traditional way for the region while manufacturing processes are carried out by the  members of a family without the use of hired labor. Hired labor is permissible only for performing the seasonal field activities.
