By a decision from 25 January 2017 the European Commission (EC) on Bulgaria reimbursed Bulgaria for nearly 540 million leva paid by State Fund Agriculture in subsidies under the European Agriculture Guarantee Fund.). The monthly transfer covers the direct-payment expenditures effected by the Paying Agency for December 2016, under the direct payments.
EC decided on monthly payments for reimbursement of paying agencies based on Regulation (EU) 1306/2013 on the financing, management and monitoring of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and under Article 13, paragraph 1 of the Implementing Regulation (EU) 908/2014. The funds necessary for financing the EAGF expenditure shall be provided by the Commission to the Member States in the form of monthly payments that are made on the basis of the submitted cost claims and provided with information.
