A forum such as the annual Seed and Seed Material Exchange in Dobrich is yet another step towards improving the image of Bulgarian agriculture, Agricultural Academy chairman Prof. Petar Slaveykov said at his opening speech for the event.
He noted that in its 19-year history the initiative has acquired a symbolic nature for Bulgarian producers. This is a forum that affirms the trend to use quality certified seeds, a fact that has positively impacted on yields over the past few years.
Prof. Slaveykov also highlighted the event’s role as a meeting point between the real agricultural practice and the science and innovation, a key condition for the development of more efficient agriculture.
The traditional exhibition brings together 58 companies from the country and abroad, which offer seeds and seed material. Agricultural equipment firms join the expo for the first year.
