The Minister was sworn in at a ceremony at the National Assembly, after which he congratulated his former colleagues as well as the newly elected ministers in the Cabinet of Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov during the official transition of power in the Council of Ministers.

“Agriculture is a key sector and one of the most difficult sectors, but I am glad that we will have the opportunity to continue working on our strategic goals that we have set in recent months," Dr. Tahov told his Team after crossing the threshold of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food in his capacity of a minister of the newly elected Cabinet.

"We have overcome many challenges and that will allow us to work together in the long term to achieve the maximum of the goals set, not only because they are important for farmers, but also because the country's food security depends on that."

Georgi Tahov has PhD in Economics, Master of Science degrees in Accounting and Control, in Law and in Strategic Leadership, Security Management and Public Order. He specialized in Economics and Industrial Management in Germany. He has previous management experience in the National Revenue Agency and in the Agriculture State Fund.
