Minister of Agriculture and Food Kiril Vatev and Mongolian Ambassador in the Republic of Bulgaria Sayanaa Lkhagvasuren discussed opportunities for development of cooperation in the field of agriculture at a meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture.

One of the topics of the talks was the long-standing partnership between the two countries in terms of education and the continued interest of Mongolian students in undergraduate and graduate programmes in Bulgaria, including those related to agribusiness and the food industry. Minister Vatev added that Mongolia could rely on Bulgarian experience for upgrading the systems of veterinary and sanitary control and animal welfare, as well as for other joint projects.

Other topics discussed included possibilities for partnership in research and development, the export of Bulgarian technologies for the dairy industry, the sharing of know-how in the field of veterinary requirements related to animal husbandry and meat processing.

"This meeting is extremely important to me because you have great expertise. Thanks to the long-standing traditions in relations between Bulgaria and Mongolia, many joint projects have been implemented in the agricultural sector. There is huge potential for new opportunities, for this cooperation to continue and for relations to be more productive and result-oriented," the Ambassador said.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Alexander Iotsev also participated in the meeting.
