"It's a pleasure to be a part of this holiday.  I see this full hall with many excellent students, in the various specialities that the state needs to cope with the challenges of time. I wish you from the bottom of my heart to develop in depth, to seek and overcome the challenges and to continue to develop in Bulgaria“. This was said by the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Desislava Taneva at the graduation ceremony of students from the Agricultural University - Plovdiv, Class of 2019.

She thanked all the University's faculty for the good partnership in drawing up the new Common Agricultural Policy.  "The SWOT analysis for Environment and Climate, which you are preparing, was well received by the industry when it was initially introduced. The Green Deal of Europe was announced yesterday in the European Commission. Challenges remain. I hope we can reach the European level and Bulgaria to become a part of the countries that take the initiative to different policies”, Minister Taneva added.            


590 graduates of Agricultural University received diplomas at the ceremony. Of these, 348 successfully complete a bachelor's degree, and 242 complete master's degree in the fields: Crop Production, Plant Protection, Animal Husbandry, Earth Sciences, Economics, Tourism, Administration and Management, General Engineering. Among the graduates are the first class of 6 final students from the Republic of South Africa, who studied English in a Master's course in Plant Medicine.


Professor Dr. Hristina Yancheva, Rector of the University, presented a letter of gratitude to Minister Taneva for her contribution to the development of policies and strategies for modern higher agricultural education, research and sustainable partnership with the Agricultural University - Plovdiv.
