Bulgaria's accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development is of utmost importance for the development of the agricultural sector in Bulgaria. This is what the Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr Georgi Tahov said during a hearing at the Committee for Agriculture of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, in Paris, as part of the process of negotiations on the accession of our country to the Organisation.
After the discussion with the Member States of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, the Secretariat of the Committee for Agriculture and the representatives of the European Commission, Minister Tahov and his team were congratulated for the large amount of quality work.
The hearing of the Minister of Agriculture by the Committee for Agriculture of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development marks a major step forward in the process of reviewing Bulgaria's accession policy to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.
During his visit, Minister Tahov also held a meeting with the Director of Trade and Agriculture at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, Marion Jansen.
As part of the OECD's Agriculture Week, a Global Forum on Agriculture was held on: "Targeting policies towards sustainable agricultural productivity", which was attended by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr Lozana Vasileva. Policies implemented for sustainable agricultural productivity were discussed, as well as policies related to innovation and its promotion in the agricultural sector.
