Georgia wants Bulgaria's experience in the production of essential oil crops. This was announced at a meeting between the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Desislava Taneva and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Bulgaria H.E. Tamara Liluashvili.

Georgia requested expert cooperation and scientific expertise in the field of rose production. Minister Taneva pointed out that our country is willing to cooperate and that there is growth in the production of essential oil crops. She added that large processing plants have been built, and Bulgarian rose oil has a protected geographical indication from the European Commission.

Bulgaria has a Rose Institute in Kazanlak with some of the best scientists in the field from whom Georgia can gain the required experience, she said.

H.E. Tamara Liluashvili expressed gratitude and said that Georgia is honoured to draw experience from Bulgaria which is one of the leading manufacturers of essential oil crops.

During the meeting, the two countries discussed the possibilities for further cooperation in the field of wine production and trade in agricultural goods.
