State Fund “Agriculture” will compensate losses with state aid to farmers for completely failed lands and devastated regions in 2011, due to natural disasters or adverse climate conditions. Application will be available by MAF’s register of reports issued protocols to farmers for areas failed in 100%, related to adverse climate event in 2011.
For storms with pouring rains will be supported crops: corn, tomatoes and cucumbers in damaged District Montana and Sofia city. For floods and moisturizing of soil by pouring rains will be supported crops: wheat, corn, potatoes and tobacco in damaged Districts Dobrich, Plovdiv, Varna and Sofia city. For hailstorm as a result of storm activity will be supported: wheat, barley, oats, corn, sunflower, cucumbers, paper, salads, tomatoes, cabbage, melons, water-melons, grapevine and peaches in damaged Districts Vidin, Vratsa, Pleven, Stara Zagora, Sliven, Pazardzhik, Haskovo and Sofia city.
For frostbite, due to low temperatures in spring will be supported the crop coriander in Dobrich District. Farmers with completely failed areas from the listed regions are capable to receive state aid, according to regulations of European Commission’s decision from 17.10.2007 for approving a state aid for Bulgaria related to compensation of farmers’ losses for completely failed areas, due to natural disasters or adverse climate conditions.
