Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov wished a success to students and teachers from Agricultural High School in  the town of Sadovo on the occasion of the new school year. Minister Naydenov attended the ceremony in the school yard where the new 2011-2012 school year.was launched. Agricultural High School is the first state vocational school in Bulgaria which opened its first school year in 1883.

Agriculture is the only sector where there is no unemployment, but deficit of staff is noticed, said Minister. So be sure that after you finished school you will be able to realize in professions that you have chosen. Your school gives you  a good chance to higher education, added Minister.

During the first school day Minister Naydenov pointed out that the idea for reducing the schools within the system of MAF is foreseen, which number is 95 at the moment. It aims two or more agricultural schools to be combined and used  the maximum of their capacity in municipalities where there are more.

At the moment most  of the school buildings are ruined, the necessary equipment is not maintained and there is a shortage of students. Therefore it is important and necessary a reform to be carried out and our schools to offer better conditions for the children, said Minister.

Now there are 210 students in the Agricultural High School in Sadovo, which has a capacity of 500. Children are trained in specialties of: “Mechanic of agricultural machinery”; “Economist”; “Veterinary technician”, “Plant-grower”. The School has won and implemented four projects under “Leonardo da Vinci” Program.

During the ceremony Minister Naydenov donated balls to students and promised Ministry of Agriculture and Food to provide repair service of the school roof.
