SFA has paid subsidies to 86,199 candidates under the single payment scheme (SAPS) and 67 280 candidates under the national additional payments scheme (NAPS) for the 2011campaign
with desire to be most useful to farmers and strictly to implement commitments made to them. This represents 98.2% of applications under SAPS and NAPS. With the framework agreement on agriculture signed at the end of September last year, the Fund committed to paying at least 90% of applications under both schemes until January 31, 2012

SAPS and the national payments are the primary mechanism for subsidizing agricultural income in Bulgaria. The fact that the transfer of financial assistance is made before the start of active operations in the farms, which will facilitate farmers to plan their costs for processing of agricultural land is of particular importance.

The amount of subsidies paid is worth respectively BGN 645 million under SAPS and BGN 80 million under the national additional payments. Single tranche of such amount is made for the first time since the beginning of direct payments in Bulgaria.

Authorization of funds is done on current data for eligible areas. After the processing of appeals filed within the stated procedure, MAF will provide updated information that will become the basis for further applications for authorizations.
