A team of the Bulgarian National Agency of Fisheries and Aquaculture (NAFA) and the Fisheries and Control sector in the town of Shumen have busted a gang of poachers operating in the north-east of the country.

 

The gang operated mostly in the region of Targovishte, selling the fish in Varna and Shumen.

 

Authorities seized nine fishing nets with a total length of 600 m as well as nearly 50 kg of fish and 1.5 kg of crabs, which were donated to St. Apostles Petar i Pavel Church in Veliki Preslav.
