“At the Council of EU Ministers of Agriculture and Fisheries, which will be held in Brussels on Tuesday,  I will raise the issue  to the Minister of Rural Development and Food of Greece-Kostas Skandalidis to tighten up control on food products with expired validity date, transported from Greece to Bulgaria”. That was what Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov said in reference to the consignment of one ton of pig heads and offal captured overnight at the Boarder Checkpoint “Kulata” by inspectors of the Regional Directorate of Food Safety – Blagoevgrad.

He commented that Bulgarian Food Safety Agency has mobilized all its forces to strengthen the control not only at the Black Sea, but also the entrances of the country, because of the multiple cases of unfit food products in summer.
