Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Svetlana Boyanova met with Executive Director of European State Forest Association (EUSTAFOR) Martin Lindel. During the meeting was discussed the continuance of Bulgarian membership in Association, but under different legal form. This will become possible with membership of new created six state forest enterprises with principal Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
The main purpose of EUSTAFOR is to support and protect the common interests of state forest owners in Europe. Thanks to its ability, it is improving the lobbying in European Union to form active European Forest Policy for state forests. At the moment the Association is the only representative of state forest organizations in European institutions. In it as members there are 27 structures from 20 European States.
Deputy Minister Boyanova noted the importance of held discussion and assured Mr. Lindel that Bulgaria will continue its active participation and collaboration in all initiatives of the association. The meeting was attended by General Secretary of Executive Forest Agency eng. Valentina Marinova.
