Today, May 16, 2011 expires the submission deadline for applications without sanctions imposed for the 2011 campaign, and June 10, 2011 is the submission deadline for applications with sanction of 1% for each day of delay. For the first time this year, begins the implementation of new support schemes for farmers, breeding from 10 to 49 (inclusively), ewes and goats. Farmers must submit a joint application under Ordinance № 5 of 2009 on procedures for submitting applications under direct payments schemes and measures.
The new schemes are applied to cattle breeding in economically vulnerable municipalities in Southern Bulgaria and in disadvantaged areas. Support will depend on the number of ewes and she-goats kept in a farm. Farmers can apply for only one of the two schemes. Those farmers who fall within the territorial scope of both economically vulnerable municipalities in Southern Bulgaria, and disadvantaged areas can apply and receive a subsidy only under one of the schemes, the farmer will receive a bigger subsidy per capita.
Ewes and she-goats must be registered in system for animal identification and registration of animal holdings of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency. Before submitting the application a farmer must update information for his animal holding in the system.
