We do not have a proposal and we will not have one. Grain producers will get what the next year’s budget plans. No more is possible. If we show weakness now and yield to the pressure, the domino effect will appear,said the Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov at a press conference on the occasion of the grain producers’ strike in Sofia.

So far Grain Producers Association was favored, but from today, all negotiations will be conducted in this, extended format. I once again call on those who are not here today – they should be the pillar around which the other sectors could survive. This is the hard choice. The money they want was allocated in the budget, but this means we will have to take funds from the other, weaker sectors. Those who created a very stable sector in the recent years can resist the crisis. Stock breeding, for example, is consumer of their fodder. As a minister and a father I want Bulgaria to have its local producers. That’s why we had to make this difficult decision.
In connection with yellow galoshes, granted to him by the grain producers, Minister Naidenov said that he wears galoshes, and rubber boots, and neither insult nor ashamed of them.
