The management bodies of Food Safety Agencies of Bulgaria and Greece will meet and specify common measures in connection with the multiple cases of food products with expired date and lack of documents, which come from our southern neighbor country. This question was discussed at a meeting between Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov and General Secretary for Food and Agriculture in Greece – Ms. Georgia Bazoti-Misoni. The meeting took place within the EU Council of Ministers of Agriculture held in Brussels today. Minister Naydenov has submitted information to the Ministry of Greece about the established cases of food products with unknown origin and expired validity date, coming from our southern neighbor country. He insisted on taking urgent measures from both countries.
EU Agriculture Ministers discussed the reform in Fishery Policy within the Council of Ministers. The reform foresees the creation of Advisory Board for the Black Sea, which to take care of fishery resource management and water conservation. Minister Naydenov expressed his view during the Council that European Commission and all Member States should be drawn to the cause of protecting the Black Sea, not only Bulgaria and Romania. „Not only Bulgaria and Romania have to take care of the Black Sea’s fishery safety and water conservation but also the other Black Sea countries and Member States”, underlined the Minister before his colleagues.
