Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Georgi Kostov met with H.E Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Al-Madbuh, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the State of Palestine in Bulgaria.

They discussed the preparation of a project for cooperation between Bulgaria and Palestine in the field of agriculture. It is vital for both countries to exchange of experiences and best practices in science related to agriculture and food production, said Deputy Minister Kostov. He underlined that Bulgaria is a popular destination for Palestinian students, which is a good basis for future exchanges of scientists and experience.

During the meeting, the issue of good practices that our country has in afforestation and forest establishment was considered. Deputy. Minister Kostov said that afforestation is a long and complicated process that takes time. Landscape enhancement can affect weather conditions in Palestine, which will have a favorable influence on the tourism development in the country. Experience that our country has in the field of afforestation can be extremely useful for Palestine, said Prof.Dr. Kostov.

Export of Bulgarian meat and milk for Palestine was also discussed. Deputy Minister Kostov said that our country can offer food / chicken, lamb meat and milk / which are environmentally friendly and of high quality. Bulgaria can be a bridge in the commercial relations between Europe and Palestine, became clear during the meeting.
