Prime Minister Boyko Borisov symbolically handed over a check worth BGN 73 million to the President of the National Association of Tobacco Producers in Bulgaria Mr. Tsvetan Filev in the town of Kardzhali. The funds are provided under the national additional payments scheme and they have already been transferred in the accounts of farmers by the State Fund "Agriculture", Paying Agency. "We promised something and we kept our promise, so people will get their money," said Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov.


For a second year we provide national funding for the tobacco sector, because this is the only livelihood of the people here, said Prime Minister Borisov and added that additional funds will be also allocated to the livestock breeding and vegetable sectors. Tzvetan Filev thanked the Prime Minister and Agriculture Minister for the efforts to support the branch.
The event was also attended by MP GERB Tzveta Karayancheva, Executive Director of the SFA and Rumen Porozhanov and Governor of Kardzhali Ivanka Taushanova.
