Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Georgi Kostov met with Ahmad Slaibi, Senior Specialist in Economics of Natural Resources Department of the World Bank and the World Bank representatives.
Project for the prevention, management and control of forest fires, leading to reduction of GHG emissions in Bulgaria was discussed during the meeting. Ministry of Agriculture and Food will take part in the implementation of the project. The legal framework of the project was clarified at the meeting. The possibility of financing the project to be done by Carbon Funds to the World Bank was also discussed. The readiness of the Ministry for the participation and capacity for implementing methods for reducing emissions of greenhouse gases by preventing fires were also among the topics discussed
Ministry of Agriculture and Food expressed its readiness to participate in the project and to provide the necessary information for the the project implementation.
