Turkey has reported that anthrax has broken out in some places in the country's European part which borders Bulgaria, said during a  meeting with farmers in Haskovo Minister of Agriculture Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov.

"All measures have been taken," he said. He recalled that Bulgaria conducts scheduled vaccination against the disease, but added: "I cannot tell you if currently there are vaccinated animals or not."

The Minister said he will ask the veterinary authorities in Haskovo, who exercise control on the national border, to be more vigilant, because the warmer months of the year are conducive to the spread of anthrax The Minister  also said that veterinary authorities vaccinate against anthrax in the villages where there is potential danger. Naydenov noted that this often lethal disease affects humans as well as animals.
