Deputy Prime-Minister and Minister of Finance Simeon Dyankov, Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov, Executive Director of State Fund “Agriculture” Rumen Porozhanov and representatives of agricultural organizations in Bulgaria have started today the discussion of framework for support of the agricultural sector in the next financial year. An expanded meeting was held in the Council of Ministers and chaired by the Deputy Prime-Minister Simeon Dyankov.
For agriculture in 2012, have been provided over BGN 1, 3 milliard, part of which, amounting to BGN 838 130 243 are European funds and BGN 500 285 904 are from state budget. From the budget funds BGN 384 145 904 are national payments while BGN 116 150 000 are state aids. For the first time aids included funds for vegetable farming, fruit-growing, pig-breeding and poultry-farming.
BGN 73 million from national payments is provided for tobacco growers, and BGN 71 million – for stock-breeding under the scheme per capita. Three options for allocating the funds for national payments per single area were discussed.
Participants in the meeting agreed unanimously on today’s meeting and with the support of Deputy Prime-Minister Simeon Dyankov Advisory Council of Agriculture to be formed, where talks on financial framework until the end of August to continue. Advisory Council of Agriculture will be a permanent body to MAF for policy consideration in the sector.
