From August 15 to September 2 2011 will be implemented the second tranche to provide food products under the “Charity” Program. The Program is applied by State Fund “Agriculture” in partnership with Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC). For this purpose were revealed 334 provisional points of Bulgarian Red Cross throughout the country, and volunteers handing out aid to them. The program is funded entirely by European funds, but its purpose is to assist the most vulnerable strata of society.
Anyone who is entitled to be assisted will receive a package of 14, 7 kg food products. The package contains 4 kg flour type 500, 4 kg rice, 1kg wheat semolina, 1kg spaghetti, 1kg ordinary wafers, 3, 4 kg meatless vine leaves and 0, 350 kg dessert farina.
Individuals who will be assisted by the Program are determined in advance by the Social Service Agency. With the changes in the Ordinance for the distribution of food from intervention stocks for socially disadvantaged individuals, that was published in “Official Gazette”, the scope of individuals who have to be assisted will increase from 205 000 to 255 000 people. By the second tranche of the products will take advantage mothers and adoptive mothers who receive support for one- year- old child.
The receiving of aid will be able by putting a signature to the pre-registered lists or by submitting a notarized power of attorney.
In case that anyone left out to take the aid from the first tranche, may receive it to the next distributing. The last third tranche will be held from November 1 to November 22 2011.
The granted budget to Bulgaria under “Charity” Program amounted to EUR 11 042 840, including 103 318 tones intervention stocks and financial resources for transportation and administrative costs.
