Minister of Agriculture and Food Prof. Dr. Hristo Bozukov met with H.E. Mrs. Manal El Shinnawi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Bulgaria.
During the meeting the both officials have discussed the opportunities for cooperation and exchange of experience in agriculture and trade in agricultural products. H.E. Mrs. Manal El Shinnawi pointed out that agriculture is an important sector in Egypt. She showed interest in the exchange of experience in grain production, as our country is a leader in the processing of sunflower oil in Europe. "For us it is an important opportunity to import grain, sugar, sunflower oil, oils and chicken meat from Bulgaria. The country offers the best ratio of quality and price, "said she.
Minister Bozukov underlined that there are 25 research institutes in various fields of agricultural science in our country and this is a prerequisite for sharing experiences and deepening the bilateral cooperation. For her part, H.E. Mrs. Manal El Shinnawi praised the experience and heritage of our country in agriculture and added that Bulgaria is known with the taste of its products.
Both sides also discussed possible ways to trade and import of agricultural goods and deepening of cooperation in the fields of phytosanitary and veterinary control.
Mr. Abdelrahman A. Raouf, Minister Plenipotentiary for Economic and Commercial Affairs also attended the meeting.
