Minister of Agriculture, Prof. Dimitar Grekov met with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the State of Israel Yair Shamir during the official visit of Prime Minister Oresharski and Bulgarian delegation to Israel.
During the meeting it became clear that the Israeli side is interested in import of lamb, white brined cheese and mineral water. The two ministers discussed opportunities for joint construction of greenhouses, using Israeli technology.
During the visit Minister Grekov also had a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture of the Palestinian Authority Walid Mahmoud Mohammed Assaf in Ramallah. Both officials discussed possibilities for the implementation of joint projects with the main focus to production and imports of meat and dairy products.
Ministers agreed on the need for students exchange from agricultural universities and cooperation in science and application of new technologies in the field of agricultural science.
Minister Grekov together with the Prime Minister participated in a meeting with Bulgarian Jewish community in Israel .
