“For the first time, this year, there will be additional support for traditional Bulgarian oil-bearing rose varieties in the new programme period in the frames of compensation payments under the Rural Development Programme 2014-2020”, announced minister of Agriculture and Food Desislava Taneva during his visit in Kazanlak. She specified the oil-bearing rose producers can receive BGN 100 more per decare. Taneva explained that Bulgaria met some 40% of rose oil demand in the world. “Bulgarian rose oil production and rose plantations are recovering; there is a permanent trend of Bulgarian rose plantations increasing. Each grower who has a Bulgarian oil-bearing rose plantation of a traditional variety can have an additional payment for preserving traditional Bulgarian varieties.Besides that, each Bulgarian oil-bearing rose producer can participate in a total of 6 measures under the RDP, which has already been approved,” said Desislava Taneva further.
“Before that, we launched for the first time and opened the new programme with Measure 4.1. Under this measure, the deadline for which expires on Monday, there are aid applications for new Bulgarian oil-bearing rose plantations as well,” Taneva announced.
Minister Taneva was among the official guests to the last day of the 112th Rose Festival. During the visit, together with the President Rosen Plevneliev, they attend opening of the correspondence headquarters of the Bulgarian News Agency in Kazanlak.
