On November 9, 2011 new  application acceptance for support under Measure 311 "Diversification into non-agricultural activities" and Measure 312 "Support for the creation and development of micro enterprises"  of the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013 has started. Application acceptance will be completed on 9 in December 2011.

Measure 311 provides grants to farmers for investments in agricultural activities.

Measure 312 assists newly registered or existing micro-enterprises operating in non-agricultural sectors.

The supported activities include: development of rural tourism, local crafts, development of social services for rural population, creation / or improvement of workshops for maintenance and repair of machinery, production and sale of renewable energy manufacturing industry, production furniture, light engineering and so on; services - recreation and sports, creation and development of consultancy and business services, health and social care, transport services etc.

The minimum total amount of eligible costs per project is EUR 5 000, while the maximum is EUR 400 000, and in case of investments in energy production from renewable sources - one million euros.

Financial support amounts to 70% while in the case of projects for production and sale of renewable energy sources amounts to 80% of eligible costs but no more than  the BGN equivalent of 200,000 euros.
