State Fund "Agriculture" paid out the sum of BGN 110,793 to 83 farmers for animals drowned due to the emergency situation in the region. Thus, the total number of farmers, who has received assistance, reaches 107 and the compensation paid amounted to BGN 139,211 l. Funds for assistance are provide in the form of de minimis, approved by the Board of State Fund "Agriculture".
Lists to assist farmers with drowned animals were prepared by Bulgarian Food Safety Agency.
Active steps were taken by the State Fund "Agriculture" for the organization of application acceptance for assistance in order to facilitate the farmers employees of the SFA accepted applications in village Biser, Leshnikovo village, Svilengrad and Harmanli.
With the purpose of the prompt payment of funds to farmers who did not have bank accounts, SFA assisted for the opening of official bank accounts where the person to receive the grant.
