State Fund Agriculture starts accepting applications from farmers for compensations for losses caused by the E-coli scare. The compensations are provided for by a EU regulation for emergency measures to support fruit and vegetable farmers in the community.
They are designed to offset loss of profit from any amounts of tomatos, letuce, cucumbers, peppers and zucchini for fresh consumption, that have remained unsold in the wake of the E.coli outbreak. Applications will be accepted until July 11.
