Bulgaria will not lose any funds under the Rural Development Program (2014-2020) for 2023. At the time of the Kiril Vatev’s team inauguration, the risk of losing funds under the RDP was 120 million euros. Thanks to the hard joint work of teams of the Ministry and State Fund for Agriculture, as well as the EC, any risk of losing funds was eliminated.
This is the result of the completed negotiation process with the European Commission Authorities for the recognition of extenuating circumstances, such as COVID-19 and the war in Ukraine, which have prevented State Fund Agriculture from making payments to beneficiaries under the various measures and sub-measures in 2023. After the two-month communication, Bulgaria will not lose a single euro under the RDP.
