‘Bulgaria offers a quality product and is a strong competitor at European level with the opportunities for hunting a red deer, a wild boar, as well as all the other types of large game.’ That is what the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, Atanas Dobrev, said during the opening of the Bulgarian stand at Europe’s largest hunting and fishing exhibition - ‘JAGD & HUND’ in Dortmund, Germany. There is a keen interest towards the trophy exhibits presented at the Bulgarian stand in the exhibition.
The exhibition is held for the 38th time and there have been over 800 exhibitors during this year. It is expected for the exhibition to attract more than 80 000 visitors.
The Southwest State Enterprise (SWSE) together with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry and the Executive Forest Agency, are the main organizers of the Bulgarian participation. At the Bulgarian stand, located on an area of 32 sq. meters, capital trophies of red deer, fallow deer, wild boar, mouflon, roebuck, etc. shot in the last few years are presented.
The visitors of the Bulgarian stand can try game specialities and traditional Bulgarian game meat appetizers prepared by the attractive master chef Uti Batchvarov.
Over 15 directors of state hunting entities from all the state enterprises in the country participate in the exhibition. The experts from the SWSE will present the terms for hunting tourism and other alternative forms of tourism in the hunting entities with a package of advertising and information materials.
