Bulgaria and Qatar will deepen  the bilateral cooperation in agriculture. Both sides expressed this intention during a meeting of the Minister of Agriculture and Food Desislava Taneva and Qatar's Environment Minister Ahmed Amer Mohamed al Humaidi.  Minister Taneva informed her counterpart that 12 lamb producing leading companies were to come up with a joint project that will be presented during the meeting on Monday. "I hope that the project will meet your interest for export and trade in animals," said Desislava Taneva.

 

She pointed out  further that companies from the livestock breeding sector are united for the first time . "Taneva offered assurances that Bulgarian producers meet EU standards and food safety is guaranteed. She expressed the hope that Bulgarian and Qatari companies would sign contracts during the visit.

 
For his part the Minister of Environment expressed hope that an agreement on exchange of experience in the field of agriculture between Bulgaria and Qatarcould be signed . "I hope that  we will agree on all important parameters related to trade and food production and start a more successful future cooperation between our countries," said Minister Al Humaidi.

 

MinisterTaneva  expressed her hope  the visit to end with concrete agreements and a clear vision of continued cooperation.
