“Bulgaria and Israel have good prospects for cooperation in all spheres of agriculture”, said agriculture and food minister Prof. Dimitar Grekov at a meeting held in MoAF with H. E. Mr. Shaul Camisa-Raz, Ambassador of Israel to Bulgaria. The two discussed the possibility for creating a mixed Bulgarian-Israeli agrarian commission. Its areas of activity would be oriented towards the economic, scientific and technical sectors.
Minister Grekov pointed out that our country had the potential to export poultry and mutton, livestock, cooled and frozen meets, and dairy products for Israel. “One of the priorities of the Bulgarian government is to develop vegetable growing with wide opportunities for export”, explained further minister Grekov.
H. E. Mr. Shaul Camisa-Raz expressed the willingness of his state to hand over to Bulgaria its experience in creating drip irrigation systems, which would facilitate our irrigated agriculture.
Minister Grekov extended an invitation to the Israeli minister of agriculture and rural development Yair Shamir to visit Bulgaria.
