Bulgarian Prime minister Boyko Borisov has appointed two deputy ministers of agriculture, food and forestry.
Atanas Dobrev was born on September 18, 1975. He holds a Master's degree in Business Management from Veliko Tarnovo University "St. St. Cyril and Methodius".
In the period 2002-2007, he worked in the structure of State Fund Agriculture and headed several departments at the institution which is accredited to perform the functions of SAPARD Agency and of Paying Agency.
From 2007 to 2008 Mr. Dobrev was advisor to the Chairman of the State Forestry Agency (SFA) and acting parliamentary secretary of SFA.
In 2008 and 2009 he was Executive Director of the National Fund Bulgarian Forest.
From 2009 to 2013, he worked in the agriculture sector and from June 2013 he was appointed parliamentary secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
From July 2014 to end of August 2014, Atanas Dobrev was appointed Executive Director of the State Fund Agriculture - Paying Agency.
From August to November 2014, he was Director of the Administrative and Information Communication Technologies at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
From November 2014 to May 2017, he was appointed Deputy Executive Director of State Fund Agriculture - Paying Agency, responsible for Operational Programme “Fisheries and Aquaculture” and SAPARD Programme.
He speaks English and Russian.
He is married and has two children.
Dr. Tsvetan Dmitrov was born on December 2, 1957 in Sofia. He graduated from Trakiya University in the town of Stara Zagora, specializing in zoo-engineering.
He graduated a full time research post-graduate course at the Ukrainian Agricultural Academy with a qualification Doctor.
Dr Dimitrov has a lot of experience in agriculture. He worked as a science worker, head of section at the Institute of Stock-breeding Sciences, the town of Kostinbrod at the Agricultural Academy from 1987- 1995.
From February 2003 till August 2006 he was Director of Stock-Breeding Directorate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forest and from September 2006 to July 2008 he was Director of the Agricultural Development
Directorate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Supply.
He was Executive Director of the Industrial Pig-Breeding Association in Bulgaria 2008- 2009.
Dr.Tsvetan Dimitrov was Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food from July 2009 to May 2013 and from November 2014 to January 2017.
He specialized in France, England, Israel, USA and the Netherlands.
He speaks Russian, French and English.
He is married and has one child.
