Republic Azerbaijan is interested in cooperating with Bulgaria in trade with dairy, tinned and pickled products and fruit and vegetables, announced today Mr. Emil Karimov, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Bulgaria at the meeting with Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov. Azerbaijan considers agriculture development very significant, because 45% of its economy is related with this sector. He underlined that his country eyes also exchange of scientific technologies and experts in agriculture. On behalf of Azerbaijan’s Agriculture Minister Ismat Abasov the ambassador extended an invitation to Minister Miroslav Naydenov to exchange delegations in order to enhance bilateral trade.
On his turn Minister Naydenov pointed out that it would be proper to include representatives of business and non-governmental sector in agriculture in the government delegation in order direct investment contacts to be made. Both countries agreed on the possibility of preparing a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in field of agriculture and the document to be discussed and signed in realization of direct high-level contacts later this year.
