Vegetable producers will receive subsidies for kilo qualitative production from the next year. That was announced by Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov during the meeting with farmers in the town of Rila. We announced new measure and it will be applied for the first time. So far nobody has introduced it, announced Minister. For this aim would be provided BGN 15 millions by EU.

In connection with the demands of remonstrated vegetable producers in Strumiani, Minister Naydenov said that control checks of imports related to Ministry of Finance. Import of vegetables from Greece can not be restricted, because it is free European market, said Minister. He added that farmers in the Region of Strumiani, Petrich, Sandanski and Kresna have to unite to become more competitive in comparison with Greek producers. In Greece farmers are united in cooperatives. Another large problem about vegetable producers is that they are not registered as agricultural producers and they are working in the grey sector, said Minister. He added that in this way they could not receive subsidies.

The meeting was attended by MP of GERB Emil Gushterov and governor of Kyustendil Lyubomir Anchev.
